<\/a><\/p>\nThis is not<\/em>\u00a0my stadium made of food, it’s a picture from the internet that captures the spirit of the event. \u00a0 This would be quite a boring post without a picture.<\/p>\n I was invited to a friend’s house for an impromptu party. \u00a0Almost as important as the game is the advertising, companies spend millions of dollars to get people talking about whatever they’re flogging. \u00a0 So we had to pay some attention to both the sport and the commercials.<\/p>\n Last year the Colorado team was playing (and they were roundly defeated). \u00a0 You could have rolled a bowling ball down the main street and it wouldn’t have hit anything. \u00a0 Even though the Colorado team didn’t make it to the finals this year it was still an occasion for lots of parties. \u00a0There was not much traffic on the road and you could tell who was hosting the parties by all the cars parked nearby. \u00a0It is both interesting and a little disturbing that sport has replaced religion or patriotism in people’s lives.<\/p>\n Next holiday is Groundhog Day (Feb. 2nd) in which a prognosticating rodent determines whether there will be 6 more weeks of winter or not. \u00a0Booze is optional for this holiday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Today was that most American of holidays, the Super Bowl. \u00a0 It’s a holiday that almost everyone observes, because it involves food and booze. \u00a0Almost everyone likes that and\/or the actual sport.
