The day had started out with me on a mission.\u00a0 And I had set out with only one mission, to track down the local telephone company office and get a modem from this century for M’s cousin.\u00a0 \u00a0Google had led me along a winding path through the city, and there I was.\u00a0 \u00a0Only there was no phone company office at the rumored address, only a real estate office that had been there for years.\u00a0 \u00a0So as I waited on the phone to talk to someone from the phone company, I noticed these fine feathered\u00a0fiends<\/del> friends across the street at an art gallery.\u00a0 \u00a0(Santa Fe has so many galleries that they are almost hard to avoid).<\/p>\n

I love crows, and apparently so do normal people.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

They are somewhat mysterious and sentient.\u00a0 What exactly are they thinking as they observe us?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Possible harbingers of some dread fate, they are also quite popular subjects of poetry and rhymes.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I’m not quite sure I would like to have this crow looking down on me in my garden (assuming I had a garden).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

But this one, which I saw the next day was clearly the best of the lot (but sadly, it is not for sale).\u00a0 \u00a0This bird lives in an interactive art experience (a former bowling alley filled with rooms of mysterious stuff that one can wander around in).\u00a0 And at three feet tall clearly not a bird to be messed with.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
