{"id":2120,"date":"2016-12-22T14:05:31","date_gmt":"2016-12-22T23:35:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flytippings.com\/?p=2120"},"modified":"2016-12-23T12:08:52","modified_gmt":"2016-12-23T21:38:52","slug":"christmas-food","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flytippings.com\/?p=2120","title":{"rendered":"Christmas food"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since it is almost Christmas I decided to go ahead and start my cooking. \u00a0 It&#8217;s tradition and you can&#8217;t mess with tradition. \u00a0 This recipe was printed in the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, a newspaper that was published from 1852 to 1986. \u00a0 I&#8217;m guessing that this recipe is from 1976 or 77. \u00a0 Mom saw it, clipped it out of the paper, and made it for Christmas one of those years. \u00a0 I thought it was delicious, and as it is a tiny recipe I promptly lost it. \u00a0 But the food editor of the paper kindly looked it up and sent me this copy, and I have taken more care with this copy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/flytippings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/dec.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2122\" src=\"https:\/\/flytippings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/dec-183x300.jpg\" alt=\"KODAK Digital Still Camera\" width=\"183\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flytippings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/dec-183x300.jpg 183w, https:\/\/flytippings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/dec-768x1257.jpg 768w, https:\/\/flytippings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/dec-626x1024.jpg 626w, https:\/\/flytippings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/dec.jpg 841w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 183px) 100vw, 183px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have made this every year since then, and it&#8217;s one of the things that I only make \u00a0at Christmas time. \u00a0I would make this for me and make German hazelnut cookies for M. \u00a0 His recipe was translated from German and started out &#8220;make a mountain of flour and mine a pit in the center&#8221;
